Original Medicare
Routine vision exams and glasses are generally not covered. After cataract surgery that includes an intraocular lens, Medicare may help with one pair of standard eyeglasses or contact lenses. Confirm current rules on Medicare.gov.
Medicare Advantage extras
Some Advantage plans add a vision allowance. Networks, copays, and dollar limits vary by ZIP code and can change in the Annual Notice of Change. This site does not name a plan.
Medigap
Standardized Supplement letters generally do not add routine vision. They help with Original Medicare cost-sharing.
Common questions
