I'm Alan Blackwell, founder of Medisure Agency and a licensed California insurance professional specializing in Medicare. I created Medisure Agency with a simple idea: people should be able to understand their healthcare choices and find the resources available to them without having to navigate a confusing system alone.
Technology that supports a person, not a pitch
My background in technology and systems architecture has shaped the way I approach Medicare. I believe technology should make complicated systems easier for people to understand and use. It should enhance personal service, not replace it. That's why Medisure Agency combines educational resources and digital tools, including My Medicare Checkup, with personal guidance when someone wants additional help.
More than Medicare
Healthcare coverage is only one part of healthy and secure living. People may also need help finding food assistance, transportation, housing resources, caregiver support, financial assistance, and other community services. Medisure Agency works with and maintains partnerships with community and social-service organizations that help connect people with healthcare programs, government benefits, and local support resources. These relationships allow us to look beyond insurance coverage and help people identify additional services and resources that may be available in their communities. These partnerships support a broader Medisure Agency mission: helping people find not only appropriate healthcare coverage, but also resources that may improve their health, security, independence, and quality of life.
Education before enrollment
I believe a Medicare conversation should begin with education. Medisure Agency's goal is to help you understand Medicare, ask the right questions, and evaluate your options based on your own healthcare needs, providers, prescriptions, preferences, and circumstances. That's also why I created My Medicare Checkup. It is a structured way to think through your Medicare situation, get a summary, and then decide whether to talk with Alan. I also write a book that I update every year so Medicare beneficiaries have a written resource they can use at their own pace. Medicare 2026 is meant to help you understand how Medicare is built, think through your health and coverage goals, and walk into a conversation prepared — not to choose a product for you.
